Now that it's below freezing I am noticing a lot of white-ish smoke from the exhaust. I am not loosing any coolant so I do not think it's moisture, and it will continue to do it even after the car has been warmed up and driven on the highway for 45 minutes.
Wondering if it might be fuel showing up in the denser air?
It is what is called condensation. A product of all internal combustion engines that is more visable in the cooler/colder weather. It was 40 degrees and somewhat humid the other day and I had small puddles on the ground at the tailpipes. Don't make problem where there is none. Another reason for more frequent oil changes in the winter and always take longer drives to completely warm up the engine and drive train. Not just until the temp gauge reads normal. The oil can still be cold and not warm enough to evaporate any of the internal condensation/moisture build up.

what he said condensation. I'd have at least a 180 'stat in there.

what do the plugs look like?. I was following a car the other day & water was gushing out of the tailpipe, took me a few seconds to register what I was seeing, dont know if it was just condensation or not but it was substantial.

is it missing under load or at a steady rpm & what rpm. how old are the plugs/wires. is it the 340 in your sig. what's your timing

It's been a few months since I ran the compresison and leak down tests maybe I will run them again.
Though I am a firm believer in the basics & k.i.s.s. if you were good before those areas should still be OK but was it acting up at the time you tested it? Trying to see if anything is jumping up at me, nothing yet.
I also believe in the same, as I do engineering and statistics all day long!
I think I will look at the cap and rotor again.
The more miss at start up depicts a fuel system issue to me, but if I have weak spark on a cylinder I suppose it could mimic that also.

Misses more under load it seems like.
It's hard to tell while driving due to my summit - dukes of hazzard style exhaust.....

I would suspect a bad plug, wire, or burnt cap and rotor. The weak spark is worsened when the engine is cold with the richer mixture, much harder to get complete combustion with a weak spark on a cold engine...
