I've not had first hand experience, but a few guys on LX Forums are using them. InferAL and Hemi~C~ most notably.

Long term use reliability. Compatibility with all other factory parts. I will go look there and see what I find.

The only thing that isn't a direct factory part is head gaskets. Those are cometic. All accessories, timing cover etc will bolt on. It isn't as exotic as it seems.

Agreed. I'm dropping 200 lbs going from a B/RB to my Iron block 6.1...

Just something I am looking into. It's my daily driver and the 3.8 sucks. I figured this was a great place to start asking about the Gen 111 Hemi

Just something I am looking into. It's my daily driver and the 3.8 sucks. I figured this was a great place to start asking about the Gen 111 Hemi


I am big fan of the GenIII hemi but if you are looking for a daily driver i would just do a 5.7 stroker "392" I myself have the alum block already and the 6.4 heads for my challenger, however the block was $4200 plus another 1300 for the heads, You can get a whole 5.7 with the computer and drive acc. for that price or less and build a stroker from the 5.7/392 can make a easily 500+hp with the stock block and heads

have you actually weighed the 2 engines? A couple fellows on another site showed a 470 B engine with aluminum topend no headers and full of oil weighing 517lbs and a 5.7 eagle with no acc or oil weighing 512 lbs.

The Jeep is already heavy and though I do agree the 5.7 would be cheaper the fact that it's 100lbs lighter and it's all aluminum really is what has me looking in that direction.

Ya thats why i went the Alum block route, but if you not building the jeep to race the a 392 stroker on a daily driver 100 pounds is not mgoing to make much of a difference, If only mother mopar had a factory alum block mass produce for have the cost say around 2k

a hundred pounds isn't gonna mean squat on that daily driver....save $$$$ build a stroked 5.7

Start looking for a tune to go with it

Better yet....throw some hair dryers or a s-charger on it

I would use a 5.7 block, add a K1 Stroker kit, clean up the heads, reuse a truck intake and add a small 220/220 ish cam. Huge torque and driveability for a little bit more than the block alone.

If you want to do it, buy the alum block. We all understand lol.

BTW it's definitely not for the Dart. Someone else will be playing with it soon enough.

The big question is finding a good gen111 builder
