Have a stock bore 426 block and a Eagle 4.25 stroke (part# 444242507100) crank for it.

Now need to sort out which rods and pistons to use for a final compression of around 10:1

Any input? Greatly appreciated!

A LONG ROD LIKE 7.1 IS VERY POPULAR. IT ALLOWS A SHORTER AND LIGHTER PISTON

Just ordered a set of 7.100" BBC Molnar Technologies rods from Dan at Performance Only for a 540" Hemi I'm working on.

7,1 and 4.25 stroke is a nice combination....pistons might have to be custom ordered....diamond makes good pistons and they prices are good.

Just took delivery of an old hemi that was used and abused in racing service. Looking to get it put into my street car. I was doing some searching and came across this thread. So I figured I hijack and build upon it. Can you use a 4.25 strok crank in on of the MP blocks? I need to replace the block, but looking to use the rotating assembly heads and intake off the race motor. Thanks.

I'd go 7.1 with a .990 pin...try to get that heavy Hemi piston as light as possible and the rod ratio will benefit the high piston speeds with the tall 10.72" deck.

On an RB 10.72 deck wedge it's not as critical and a 6.7-6.86 rod is fine , on a hemi go for the longer rod

I also have a 4.250 stroke crank for my 488 hemi......can you get a piston with low enuff compression to use a 7.1 rod with a blower?

Toples...

I would think so, even with a 7.1 rod and a 4.25 you're still gonna have close to a 1.5" compression height piston, That'll be be GRACIOUS PLENTY to get enough of a dish to run low compression for Boost.

I'v been laying this off on mine with a 4.5 stroke. With a 6.86 rod the pin is almost out the bottom of the cylinder with alot of the skirt also. So I would go with the longer rod to keep the rocking down.
