i am putting a 360 LA motor in a 95 dakota that was a 4 cylinder 5 speed. I am going electronic ign. and carb. I got the fuel pressure regulator.

I was wondering if the fuel pump will stay on as long as the key is on?

As the fuse block in the engine compartment doesn't have a fuel pump relay in it(factory).

And will all the gauges work(fuel, temp, oil) with out the computer, as I already cut out the wiring for the ecm etc.

Thanks

I'm betting the fuel pump power comes out of the computer after various sensors tell it the motor is turning over, that was the way they did it way back when, and I would be real surprised to find it different these days. Probably going to end up using different gauges as well. Gene

fuel pump kicks on, when the key is turned on. it's the sound you hear, when you turn the key to the on position. get a wiring diagram from a truck with an in tank pump, and see where the power comes from. you should be able to take an "ignition on" hot source under the hood, and use it to power your relay. you might need a secondary power source to keep the pump running, if your ignition on source cuts off during cranking.
