If you do see a tuff wheel on a 70 or early to mid 71 car, this is the correct padded horn button not the plastic 72 later style or the mid 70's padded type.

Padded button were 71/72 SEs options for tuff, not rimblow of course... rest as far I know, including non SE 71/72s got plastic button
then mid 70s got back to padded due they were colored keyed... simulated seam also changed to baseball stich, instead 90 degrees stitch from 70/74 period.
please correct me if I'm wrong

bought a 1970 runner, had rim blow, along with many other odd options.was going to restore, but seller after a few calls refused to give me the build sheet and fender tag,as promised when I bought the car. I was pissed,it was a red car/white interior,383 w/ air, buckets, console, plus air grabber and hood signals.after he told me to "f" off.i parted car out...just made me sick...what a loser...but it did have a oem rim blow...very ugly, looked like it belonged on a fury,lol...mike

I forgot about that style rimblow. My original question was referring to the more common rimblow wheels typically found on E-bodies.
Then the answer to your original question would be: NO!

don't know if wrong or right but i had a 71 superbee that had a tuff with the padded button, and also researching 340 demons i have seen original photos and mag writeups from back in the day that showed the 71 demons with the padded button, i think all tuff wheel cars in 71 had a padded button, then by late 71 they switched to the cheap plastic ones and that was it till the padded type made a reappearance in the mid 70's but that pad is a lot different than the 70/71 pad. that pad in the pic i posted is rare it took me many years to find one

was checking the Hamtramck website and yes, it seems the 72 was the first release for the plastic button on A Bodies at least 72 Charger SE brochure still shows the padded and Hammtracmck website states Padded for 72 on Charger ( I'm reading just Dodges )
