Other than a basic 30 over rebuild you could magnaflux/sonic check/water pressure check to confirm your starting with a good foundation. You might read Andy's thin wall debunk info in the archives live every 24 hour block of time like it's your last day on earth

I,ll read that, Just thought pre 70 would be better 69 1/2 and up are actually better as they added a stiffening rib to the side of the block in 1969 to help prevent cracking between the frost plugs. other than a bad block with a lot of core shift (can happen in any year) later are dang good blocks!
