How long has everyone's water pump lasted on their Cummins Ram ? Mine's an 06 with 90,000 miles and looks like it's time for another water pump. I replaced it the first time at 65,000 miles and it looks like it's leaking again. So this one lasted about four years and 25,000 miles. I don't drive the truck but about once per week. The last time it went out was while I was out of town on a Saturday. I was able to get one and change it out in the parking lot. I remember the replacement pump said Made in England. Better off with a factory pump or is aftermarket OK ?

I replaced the water pump in my 92 W350 at about 155,000 miles. I think I'm around 224,000 or so with the replacement pump.

I think I might go with the OEM pump this time.

My 2002 went 143,000 before replacing. I did do a flush and new belt at 75,000 so that may of helped.

My '06 has 334782 and still has the OEM water pump. I just put a belt on at 299000 miles and the one that came off looked as good as the one I installed.I haven't touched the engine but I'm going to adjust the valves.

You might want to go to a local diesel shop and have the ph tested in the coolant, or at least flush and refill the cooling system.
I work in a truck shop, and testing the coolant is routine at every service on over 100 trucks we run.
If the levels are too out of whack acidity wise, the water pumps, and even metal coolant lines can corrode quickly.
Just good maintenance measures.

Good idea. I think the original pump should have lasted longer than 65,000 miles and the replacement 25,000 miles.

I noticed more water pump failures on the common rail trucks than the older VP and P pumped trucks. Maybe more belt tension? Who knows. 140k on my original 2001 CTD water pump.

290000 Kms when mine went on my 92 CTD. If it wasn't for the stupid tensioner being in the way, at least its only a hours job start to finish with the pain in the butt part being refilling the system. Darn things sure like to air-lock don't they.....
Neighbor had a water pump go in his 2005 F350 diesel. He did it himself and I think the truck was down for 2 days!!
Should seen his face when he watched me change mine....

Replaced my '06 last November at 85k. Surprised me how easy it was. Now the belt was another story.
