Anyone here , know anyone that can set up a ring and pinion in the Tulsa Okla, area its a 742 8 3/4 with new timkens and new ring and pinion . I just need the pinion depth set and ring to pinion mesh . I have a new shim kit also. A local gear shop quoted me 150.00 to do this i think this is a little steep . thanks for any info .

$150.00 done correctly isn't out of the norm. If you want to drive to Memphis, TN I can get you fixed up,but the cost of fuel will kill ya.Often you'll find guys at the dealerships that work out of the house, just make sure they aren't rookies and you'll be ok. Good luck.

Setting up a differential is just plain gonna cost you some money. $150 sounds like a bargain to me. Next time I have to do it, I'm going to spend that money on a tooling instead, & learn to do it myself.
