Finishing up on some details on a 66' Hemi restoration. This particular Coronet car has PS, no a/c, manual breaks. It also came with a double pulley on the alt. I know in earlier 426 MW years they would run double pulley alt's for stability, but not sure if that's the case for a 66' street Hemi. Thoughts?

Thanks, Tony

No problem, and be sure to avoid the biggest mistake of all when restoring a 1966=68 Hemi engine (and possibly some early 69's). Paint it Race Hemi Orange (also called "Early Hemi Orange"). The later "Street Hemi Orange" is too red and completely wrong for early engines.

My buddy's 67 GTX had points taken off in the show by none other than the king G himself because he had a single groove pulley instead of two. The alt. was original.

"King G" is not a judge at any events I'm aware of?

The factory parts catalog shows that '69 was the first year that the Hemi alternator got the 3" double-groove pulley.

That would have been nice to know that day, but I don't think it would have changed a thing
