The rollers on the Johnson are probably smaller - allowing the larger skirt. Ideally you want the biggest roller possible. The skirt isn't an issue unless it uncovers the oil galley at full lift. As for the AMC lifters, apparently the oil hole is wrongly situated for Mopar use and will bleed off too much pressure because its fully exposed to the oil galley.

Bob, I'm putting a set of the Comp Cams 848 in a motor right now, no inforamtion yet on oiling issues, still waiting on pushrods. Hopefully UPS will deliver them tomorrow, if so I will post on here after priming the motor and let you know what happens to me I went out today and look for a oiling hole in the cut away band,I don't see any There are two oil holes up on top of the body but thier no where near the lifter oil galley

If you are not going to pushrod oil then why do you want to use them ? Crane ultra pros oil the wheel also ?

Morel lifters are $300

Sending oil up the pushrod to an adjuster without the oil hole cures the burnt cup issue, just have to use resstrictors in the p/rods

Id say so.... Meber had that kind of problem... I have run about evey configure of head and rocker combo out there...From Hemi's to Wedges with spray bar oiling.... Both T&D rockers and Jesel.. Even built my own spray bars out of 3/16 brake line....But If I had to do over I would run push rod oiling

P/R oiling is the lazyway. Can't beat a GOOD spraybar setup

You can't beat direct feed to the most stressed part of the valve train, the pushrod cup or ball to rocker arm. Or, if you are a bit paranoid, run both like me. Keeps the springs cool, guarantees good pushrod oiling.

How did you restrict your pushrods. What size did you start and end with?

.The "Skirt" or the cutout around the wheel is the problem on AMC's losing oil Pressure..at full lift like you say...

I don't remember the actual numbers, but I think the pushrods come 100 thousands and the restrictors are like 20 thou.
