I looking to install a fuel cell, what do you guys think of the foam filled cells versus the non foam filled cells, any disadvantages with the foam?

Depending on how big of a cell you run the foam helps reduce sloshing (sp) and uncovering the pickup

The foam breaks down with today's fuels.I have a 5 gallon cell and took out the foam.Since I keep the tank at 4 gallons at all times,I do not run out of fuel.

I have had the foam go bad and go thru my entire fuel system...not fun at all to clean out.

I've been using Sunoco Purple race gas for as long as I can remember and never had and issues with the foam, including the Summit 5 gal. aluminum tank that's been in the current car for several years.

I would be mainly concerned with some street gas or some of the more exotic race fuels.
