To be honest, I don't post often, but I read you guys a lot!

So I've tough, why not talking about my car?

I've bought my first car at 30 (Mostly I've been driven motorbikes all my life) so as a Daily driver, I've bought a 1971 383 Barracuda Gran Coupe (# numbers)

Now, I'm 40, and I've decided that the car needs more than the 460hp that I've put it into throughout the years.

So I've put the first supercharger on a Mopar in France (there's so few Mopar do here!) And, to be honest, I think that, even if we're 60 millions, we don't even need a whole hand to count centrifugal supercharger.

The car is mostly to be run as a daily (still...) and I don't aim drag racing (few events, no official strips)

The car has its original 383 that has been rebuilt and reinforced. The compression has been lowered to 8.8
The trany is a cope street and strip, it has an overdrive, an alloy driveshaft 3".

All the rear end is brand new (thanks to Dr. Diff!) with a 8 3/4 rear axle from an 1966 B-body (exit the stock 8 3/4) coupled to an 3.73 in an 489 case.
The supercharger is a Procharger D-1SC in a kit from the supercharger store
I hope that I'll have finished the car in a month and a half (max!)
Still need to finish to connect all the electrics new components and the water/methanol injection kit.







By the way... I live in France (the car was sold new in Switzerland)

sounds awesome! i'm always amazed when people over seas have and work on these cars. although with international shipping these days, it probably isn't that much different from here!

Water/meth injection? My car looked like yours but I added gills and billboards. I wondered what mine would have looked like with a vinyl top.

In fact... No, it's not easy at all...
Here's the problems :
- Whe have NOBODY on whom we can relly to help us, cause, nobody know these cars
- There's few of these cars, so each time you need a part or an upgrade, you can't just look on the small ads to find a 440 near you
- You have to speak english, because, what ever you'll do, everything has to be ordered in the states
- Don't even imagine a second that a mechanic can fix it, for them it's "foreign technology" It's easier for 90% of them to adjust 6 double weber on a V12 ferrari than to simply tune an 4BBL Holley
- Metric is the only tools that you'll find here, so on that point also all that has to be order oversea (on that point England can supply stuff)
- The price of the shipping + the custom + the taxes make an increase of the original price of at least 50%
- In my case, 99% of the population has NEVER heared of the brand "plymouth", and whatever you'll do, again 99% of the people will be SURE that you car is either one of these 3 choice : "the car of Dukes of hazzard" "The car of starksy and hutch" "a Mustang" (sad... but true)
- There's so few Mopar in France, that the only club that exit has more or less... 80 members... (The good point is that, mostly all our cars are heavily modified)

On the good points, the cops know [Edited by Moparts - Family Friendly Site - Keep it clean] about our cars, so when we do tons of noise, for them it's "normal" it's like in the movies

About the billboard and the vinyl top, I've tried it... But, for me it was "to much black" the stripe was flush after half an hour



Si I've did something that all the purist will hate, I've put an 1970 stripe on a 71!

Ans I've removed the classic "340 / 383 / 440 / Hemi" to put an "King Kuda" (a tribute to the Hot Wheels of the early 70's

The hockey stick is cool, I've never understood the fascination with the whole quarter in black primer look.

My car was originally a bh23n1b. So no fender louver but is a 4 speed.
You could order parts in Quebec, Canada. Speak French there mostly.
