Try this instead of paint, you won't be dissapointed. You need to remove ALL of the rust, apply this product immediately afterwards and you are done!

I'd still recommend the RPM. It's an interior part so once it's coated I doubt you'd have to do it again. If you are still set on paint, try Seymour Stainless Steel.

If you're set on paint then use Eastwood Diamond Clear. It comes in different sheens, is designed to go over bare metal and will not yellow.

Recently while trying to find Seymour locally I stumbled upon Rustoleum's Stainless Steel Paint at Home Depot and it looked just like parts I did in the past with Seymour's.

I like eastwood Brake Grey for bare metal looks.
I just did my pedal assemblies this week.
I was not happy with eastwood spray grey, detail grey,
cast grey, etc. I will see about posting a photo in a little while
when I get time. I bought just about all there greys and
TO ME Brake grey is my choice. I didn't want to spend the time heating and applying RPM for a driver/small scale car show type of car.

Lets see if this photo works. This color wasn't too dark and it was too shiney. I didn't like the grey that is suggested for stamped metal as it was to bright and looked more like an aluminum color.
Photos don't do it justice but I am Really Happy with the look.

Another photo of Brake Pedal assembly.
I am not a full time resto person, I don't do this for a living, I want to do some stuff myself to help save money, and If I am Happy with the results that is all that matters to me.
Do a search on here and there are alot of tips and info from people that will help you get the look you are after.
This is where I got my info and I Appreciate all of it that I have received.
Thanks Mopart Members.
P.S. click on the attachment and you can super size the photos.
