Time for another round o' questions...
I've been trying to find accurate info on the factory weights ov my 1970 Challenger. I've got a 70 6-cyl/3spd car with absolutely NO options... none. Unless you count bucket seats and the base radio as options, this car has none. Its got power nothing, no trim or vinyl roof, console, sway bars, has the 7 1/4" rear and 4 wheel drums... it doesn't even have undercoat. The only way this car could come more stripped from the lot would be as a 'Deputy' car.
Best i could find was 'base 70 Challenger' weight 3118lbs. Not sure how they measured that, with or without fluids, etc. The Mopar Chassis guide is very vague, but lists the slant-six E-body at 3100-3300lbs stock.
I've weighed almost every car i've owned, except for my Challengers. Right now its not running so i cant scale it.
Does 3120lbs sound right?
Figured the racers here have weighed more cars than the general crowd, so someone might know. Also... would like to know what the 4-spd equipped lower optioned T/A Challengers weighed from the factory.

I'd love to see a pic (or a lot of pics) of a /6 Challanger!
I'd say you're safe at 3100 lbs.
Sorry, no pics. Too bad, its an original paint red survivor... 99% complete and original, with some wicked patina and faded paint goin' on. I've put some wider steelies and meat on it, but it still looks bone stock. If it were TX9 black in the same condition, it'd be the perfect project car. I'd give it the flat black treatment... but the sun-baked paint is just about perfect. Red aint TOO bad... at least its not brown or blue...
3100ish huh...? Thats very cool. I had a nice 70 340 4spd Challenger with very few options... and it weighed 3500lbs. Hard to see where the extra 400lbs comes from...

probably from everything else that the bigger motor requires. 4 spd weighs more than 3 spd. the 340 probably had an 8.75, which weighs more than the 7.25, probably also had sway bars, bigger brakes maybe? PS? PB? under coating? all those things add weight!
It had the 8 3/4, 4spd, power discs, and at least three paint jobs, also had hemi suspension pkg, which was pretty rare in a 340 car i guess. But thats about it. Cop rims and Comp T/A's add a bit, but otherwise it was bone stock. 400lbs is still a big difference. Maybe that dinky 7 1/4 weighs even less than i think it does and the undercoating weighs even more huh...?
Yes... i love my lil' hot rod... i hate options, so its perfect for what i need. I'm just trying to do some math here and get an idea ov where its gonna end up...
