As the title - I'm waiting to torque these up but can't find a torque spec. It's the bolt (four total, two each bracket) that holds the heavy duty rear bumper bracket to the frame (body actually).

If anyone has any specs for the other bolts in the pic that would be good too - but I've just done them as tight as I can get with a wrench, which should be fine.......
Thanks!

i really don't think there is a spec.
on structural body parts i tighten 1/3 turn after it's tight with ratchet.
or tighten until you can't reasonably tighten any more. if the bolts snaps or strips you are to tight.
probably around 70 ftlbs.

perception is 90% of reality

There is no specific torque value from the factory, just tight. It' not like rod bolt or a main cap on a engine.

The size of the bolt determines the torque value to stretch the bolt. I have memorized the torque values just by the diameter and thread pitch. I rarely use a torque wrench any more on stuff like your working on because I can feel the fastener stretch. Same with engine bolts, I bet I can get them within 5ftlbs just by feel.

You just want those bolts tight with a 1/2 drive ratchet sized tool.
Here's guide to torque values. web page

Thanks, good chart
In the end I found a similar general torque chart in the 71 FSM showing tightening torques for different size bolts, so I went with 50 or 55 ft-lbs (can't remember). Most bolts like that (non-engine) I don't bother with a torque, just tight by feel, and never had anything back off. For those bumper bolts I just wanted to check because in theory that is what is designed to take a knock and transfer the load to the chassis rails. Just as well cos 55 ft-lbs takes more effort than I remember....
