This makes me wonder how much my OOTB Victor was holding me back before. Probably a good amount as it was untouched.

Matt I have no problem sharing and I found a real issue with at least a couple of the inside runners so I ordered a 1 inch spacer to try what I think is needed. I pushed it aside this week so I could work on my Friends Indy intake that Ryan (shady dale) redrilled the bolt holes so he could use it on the Edelbrock head. Ryan said it was 15 HP better on the dyno than the victor. I have a practice tree race to attend tomorrow (Saturday) but if you can hold off till Sunday or Monday I will try to do some testing and post some pictures.

Hey John, I guess I can wait for some info and pics of what works on this manifold. That would definitely help. I was more just looking for general info on what to or not to do when taking a grinder to this thing lol...but specific stuff about the victor since that is what I am also using would probably be better
Just got home from the practice tree race (7pm) so I will hit the shop mid morning tomorrow and test my idea on the center runners and if all goes well get you some pictures.
Good interesting thread John, glad you are willing to share. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)

Thanks Terry. 80% of the time I really enjoy playing around and testing so that's half the battle. I take on very few paying jobs and the most I ever charged for porting, before and after flow tests, and valve job was 600 dollars. Its nice that if I don't want to go to the shop I don't have to. I love nothing better than trying something and picking up a nice gain, BUT then again there are days like today. This #3 port on the Victor dies at 270cfm and stays there. I hate loosing over 30cfm with the intake on and it is. I came up with a plan, laid out the carb flange, ground, blended, bolted on a 1 inch metal spacer, ground and blended again. Man it looked great and thought man this gotta work. After 4 1/2 hours of grinding I cleaned it up for testing on good old #3 port. Test performed and a huge pick-up of 3cfm. OUCH.!!!!!. Time to rethink what the heck is going on. Hungry, disappointed, and way past my retired persons afternoon nap one more idea, one more attempt. 2 hours later time for another test and this idea paid off real nice. Now it maxes out at 292 with what I think can get better yet. Pictures to come after next attempt. It will make sense when you see what is going on. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif)

Ok guys a small update. The only reason I was playing with my new Victor was because of the disappointing flow numbers we were coming up with on my Friends Indy intake on number 3 runner. Ryan (shadydale) re-drilled the intake and went in the runner about an inch so you can use it on the Edelbrock head. After trying a few things I bolted on my Victor and it was down to compared to the tests on the other ports. The things I tried on mine actually worked better on the Indy intake. I have to set my Victor aside for now to finish the rest of his but I'm not happy yet. Her are some numbers from both intakes. The Indy intake was within 1-2 cfm with a 1 inch spacer and a 4150-4500 spacer.
---Head-------Indy intake---------Victor Intake .200--138-------138-----------------134 .300--198-------197-----------------193 .400--248-------242-----------------235 .450--268-------259-----------------254 .500--276-------274-----------------271 .550--283-------281-----------------274 .600--292-------291-----------------276 .650--301-------301-----------------278
