In say a 3900lb B-body? A friend of mine is planning on building a 500+inch stroker for a street strip 68 b-body and we were wondering what all you big block, high torque, heavyweight, racers have to say. Is an 18 spline 833 even a consideration at this power level/weight on slicks? Or is he looking to Lenco, Jericho etc? Experiences greatly appreciated.

He is looking to hit the 10's, mostly strip but street legal.

Thanks,
Chad

Chad,
This has been discussed a lot on here recently. Try the search function and you'll come up with good info.

With that being said member "d330" has a rebuilt jerico on here for $2500 in the trans section. If I had another vehicle for that to go in I'd own it in a second. Jerico and G force are his best options.

As always clutch selection is paramount. I recently saw in the race parts a jerico, new McCleod soft lok and bell for 5k all for bb mopar being sold by member " mosweethemi".

Good luck.

You'll notice a trend...

d330 and his 64 Hemi w/ Jerico - 9 second

4406, another member w/ Jerico and 9 seconds

Mike Loboda (umtr director), 9 second small block w/ Jerico

Greg (old iron), big block stroker, another 9 second Jerico

Man, sounds like a Jerico advertisement.lol. That being said I run a GF4A and only low 10's.

What he said
Take it from a guy that started out with a 23 spline trans running 12's
Start out with an initial investment in a good clutch Then your transmission choice is pretty wide open from there
I am only running 10.91 with a Richmond 5-speed with cryo treated gears from Liberty.
You will save yourself literally THOUSANDS of dollars starting out with the right equipment from the git

Thanks guys, sounds like good advice. I know he plans on the blow proof bell and was looking at a McLeod twin disc. Ill tell him about the trans on here

If I was him I would really think twice about that twin disk, especially if he is planning on racing it alot, and instead look at a quality adjustable single disc option.

Jeff, nice picture. Is that air under your right rear tire? You might need another leaf on that side.

The original poster said this is a street strip car. How streetable is the Jerico?
