Front and rear Torque boxes were standard issue on all 67 and later A-body convertibles, all A-Body big block cars, and all A-body 340 manual trans cars. That said, there were a lot of mistakes made during production, some cars got them that should not have, some cars that should have them didnt get them, or only got just fronts or just rears.
What he said , that said my 69 383 4 speed has them front and rear , don't rmember if my 440 gts had fronts , it definitely had the rears, and a 69 383 auto car I just looked at pictures of had rears but didn't appear to have the fronts

Well that's probably the case. The GTS was being unloaded and we noted that there was torque boxes on the rear but not on the front. I must have one of the mistakes.

You rangggggg.... My educated experience is as follows: All 67-69 A-Body convertibles got front and rear. The hardtops, 67 GTS's seem to have only got rears. 68 MOSTLY only got rear but I have seen later built with fronts also. I have seen a few automatics with none, but those cars were in question anyway. 69's I have seen more with both, but only 4-speed cars. There were ALWAYS exceptions, these are CHRYSLERS after all...
Thanks, kinda settles it. I just thought it was weird that my GTS only had rear torque boxes. learn something new every day. Thanks Jim

My 69 m code Cuda only had rears. Convertibles had both. But you never know. Auto' most had just rears 4 speed car most had front and rears. Then you get the one that alway throws the whole theory off I had an original 68 340 4 speed barracuda with not torque boxes sooooo? I Herd many stories with missing torque boxes.

I have had quite a few 4-speed 68 and 69 340 and 383 cars with only rear boxes.
Does your M code have fronts ? I don't remember but I want to say no now that I think about since it had fenderwell headers an I stuck mufflers on it and one point.
