I have been looking online for a parts break down or even an exploded diagram of the heater/AC box for my 2002 T/C. I am convinced that the door separating the heater and AC sections is blocked or its mechanism is malfunctioning. Alot of work to take it apart, would help to know what I am looking into.

Any help?

Look behind the glove box liner. Check all the door arms for a full stroke. Sometimes you get a lucky fix!

I have been behind the glove box and checked everything there, nadda.

Whats happening, is the left side vents are warmer than the right side. The heater core is on the left, AC is on the right. I can get good heat, but poor AC. I think whatever controls the separation between the two sides is stuck. AC compressor cycles normally.

Sometimes the plastic door hinge pins break in the middle. It looks OK on the outside while working but its not. Good luck finding it.

I tore into it tonite.

The doors on the drivers side are working.

The doors that control where the air goes are working.

I cannot see where to doors for the passenger side are controlled. I can hear the motor, and feel some sire change, but cannot see the motor actuate the doors.

Van has the ATC system.

Even in the cold air tonite, I still get a warm left set of vents and a slightly cooler right set of vents.

I leave for Florida in a couple of days, and need to try to fix it. I bought a Haynes manual, but it doesnt go into the controls for the HVAC. I am sure the AC and Heat are mixing.

If anyone can be of any help, I would really appreciate it.

I cant find the acutators for the pass heat/ac controls. I have taken all the covers off that I can to acess the box.

Have you checked the a/c system with gauges? If not you are wasting your time. The system will have a difference from side to side if the r-134 charge is low. Clutch cycling is not a good indicator of a slightly low system.

I assume you have dual zone control in your van!? Either way both blend door motors are located on the left side of the heater box, beside the gas pedal. You'll have to remove the silencer pad from beneath the instrument panel and remove the three screws that secure the heater core shield to the heater box. Once removed you'll have a clear view of the motors and can remove them and manually move the door to see if it makes a difference in the temp. I have seen a non-dual zone have a block in the evaporator core causing a warm and cold air split like you are describing. Replacing the evap fixed the car, just something to keep in mind.
