Hi guys, i hate to be a pain with such a non knowledge question, but i'm new to mopars and muscle cars in general and i bought a 71 rt challenger. It is white with the black stripe package, was a 383 magnum now with a 72 440 in it, 727 trans with column shift, sure grip rear i think, not sure of ratio, black rear spoiler, factory hood pins, magnum 500 wheels with matching spare etc, tan interior with full guage package. I thought this might be somewhat rare because of the column shift and white hood with a small rt on it not outlined in black. The car has be owned by the same old lady since 73. Is it a fairly rare car the way it is? Once again, sorry to be a pain.

Well she drove this car as a daily driver for 20 years and the 383 gave up. She couldn't wait for a rebuild and needed it to drive right away because she was a single mom with kids, so the shop she deals with offered her a 360 but she said no she wanted something as good, so they found her the 440. I'm sure the motor is still in town somewhere, but where??

Without any of that stuff documented by a build sheet/fender tag it's just another Challenger R/T.
1969 Dodge Super Bee A12 (440 Six Pack, 4-speed, Dana 60 4.10)
1972 Plymouth Road Runner (400, 4-speed, 8.75" 3.23)
1974 Plymouth Duster 360 (360, 4-speed, 8.75" 3.23)

Rare? The term is relitive. I live in Northern Wisc. I cant remeber the last I saw a Challenger on the road. Still, sounds like a nice car enjoy it and have fun looking into it's value. Just remember to have fun with it. A one owner car is rare by itself these days. History is important to a cars value. The orignal motor would be nice. White hood and column shift is not rare. A good condition Challender is, compared to what is on the road today.
I have mechanical Aptitude. I can screw up anything.
