Ok now i'm confused. Got the shocks mocked up and followed the instructions and even going past half way on the adjuster it will not begin to suspend the car. Shocks are DS 501 QA1 single adjustable and the springs are 12" and 130 lb all as recommended. I'm nervous about adjusting them too tight. If i were to try to put them in different holes i'd have to find a way to compress them. Any advice?

Lets start over. You appear to have the S&W kit, just like mine. You'll see guste tubes at a 45 degree angle to the mounts like Mike suggested. Make a pair of tubes to take the place of your shocks (see pic). Make them the correct length for your shocks at mid point travel. Set the lower brackets at mid point and see where the upper end lands. Too high? Move the brackets at the bottom into the lower holes. Attach your upper mount. This part is done. Now screw the platforms up on the shocks 1" and lock them. Mount the shocks on the car . Adjust the ride height with the lower mounts.

Later on we boxed the ladder bar mounts. Be careful add a thin shim between the Heim and the mount before final welding. The gussets tighten the side clearance for the heim at the ladder bar mounts.. Mine are VERY TIGHT. I added a tube to brace the wheelie bar as well. All done in this pic.

Have you given any thought that the 130 lb. spring might not be enough. Adjustment on the shock should be 1" and if you don't have the 60-40 split you have to change springs to the proper rating.

I use 125 lb on my B-body. With the springs compressed 1" before installing the shocks on the car, shock travel is dead in the middle.

Got the ride height i want, now it's very hard to take off the wheels & tires. Looks like the easiest way will to unbolt the lower shocks to let the axle hang down to remove the wheels & tires. Any of you guys use a pin on the lower shock instead of a bolt?

How often do you take off the wheels? Some cars , like my 'cuda I can just let the air out of the tires, compress them some and remove. But your picture shows that might not work.

I would not use a pin. Heck it's not even legal to pin a seat back to the cage. If out ever fell out it would be disaster. I let my tire come down an 1" or so and tilt the bottom inward.
