Well, I got the brakes figured out and will get the parts I need to finish it tomorrow. I will also pick up an adjustable timing light to set the timing on it. I finished the distributor tonight, too. Put a set of Mopar light advance springs in it. I got the new rear tires mounted and a buddy came over and helped me get the hood on and adjusted pretty close to right. I'll get the brakes finished, again, tomorrow and I hope to pick up an exhaust system, then it is time for some road miles!

Awesome and great progress. My Bee was one of the "ugly" 70 versions. Beige, 4 speed, ratty, scary fast, and the most fun I've had in a street car.
Old, tired, and sometimes broke down. Me, not my car...

I had a Top Banana '70. I wouldn't call them ugly, really. That was before I knew much about working on/tuning anything. It was a 383 car with a 440 out of a Sea body in it and a pistol grip. Had lots of mud in it, but was painted with Glasurit, so it was really shiny!

Got it all put back together last night. Used the new Camaro hoses and everything back together. Didn't get to set the timing yet, but borrowed a timing light. I'll get it done this week.

Progress has been very slow. A snail is speedy by comparison. I had a move and also lost my garage, so I had to move the car, too. So I have done a little. I sealed the header bolts. One is pretty well stripped, and may require drilling out and some Heli-coil if it doesn't seal. I went to replace the water temperature sending unit, and it snapped off. So I will have to get some easy outs and get that out so I can replace it and fill the cooling system again. Other issues to address: the timing jumps around a LOT. probably need to take one of the MP springs out of the distributor and maybe put a stronger spring back in. Still need to set the timing. I need to find clips to retain the lever from the door handle to the door latch on the drivers side and get the lock cylinder put in so I can lock the doors. And open them. Plenty of stuff to do, but working one bug out at a time. Need to get the engine squared away first off. Also ran into a strange problem. After a wiring mishap, I got it restarted, but flooded the engine while figuring out the wiring problem. On restart, the oil pressure came up almost at a crawl. Which was odd because as soon as it fired, it buried the gauge. I changed the oil, and it came up better, but not like it did. So I'll grab a manual gauge and see what is up with that. If it doesn't come up, I'll probably go straight to panic. So progress is slow, but the persistence continues. My favorite picture so far^^ On the trailer headed for its new residence. It is nice walking out the door and seeing it! Would rather have a garage to work on it in, though! As soon as I get settled and get my storage unit organized, at least I will get it inside...

Hats off to you Darin. What I love about this thread, and about your demeanor is to get the car running, driving, and stopping. Get the CAR back to life, enjoy, and don't worry about the $50,000 restoration. I'm on the same pathway with mine so I appreciate you sharing your story. Cheers.

Watch this space, I'm going to do the same thing as Darin, get my 69 R/T running and roadworthy this Spring just as she sits now, I might have a few of the bigger dents pulled out but that's about it. I just did the same thing to get my 37 on the road.

Thanks guys. I had an R/T for 11 years and did everything to make it my way and most things twice. I never drove it. I've had my Bee less than a year and have driven it out of the garage a couple times. It ain't pretty, but it's mine and I'm on the verge of having lots of fun and going through a lot of tires with it! I've been dormant lately, but I'll be back on it as soon as I can. Stay tuned!
