I loosened the ccover bolts enough that it leaked, so I just ordered a new cover gasket from Brewers. Installed new valve cover gaskets but need longer bolts to get them on. So those are done. I also pulled the side cover off the trans. It seems someone WAS in the trans before me. I pulled the brass forks out and put them back in exactly as they came out. Well, I think they were in wrong. I actuated reverse and it was hitting the more symmetrical of the two forks. So I think swapping them and putting it back together will solve my problem. I drove it around the garage and house and moved the Mirada to the back and now can get it out. Lost the brakes in the process. The Right Stuff got their last dollar from me. The lines in their disk brake conversion either hit the shock directly if they are mounted with calipers or hit the upper control arm AND the shock if the calipers are turned to the rear. I think the 3.23 will be okay. Would rather have a 3.55, but this wasn't trying very hard. The only thing I absolutely hate about the pictures is the rear tires being shorter than the front. I will remedy that tonight. I still need to adjust the torsion bars where I want them.
