Hello All!

Just about to paint the upper and lower grill support for a 69 Charger but can't make out the shade of black it was from the factory: gloss, satin or flat black.

Anyone know?

Thanks,
CAC

Could be described as the top plate where the hood release mechanism bolts to.

Ok, I got it, gloss black like the K Frame and rear end. Some of us are slow!

You said last year:

OK, I know this is the 10th time I've said it but;

- both parts were gloss black from the factory. Semi gloss was a GM thing. That having been said the cheapo factory gloss black wasn't exactly done with a high degree of quality in mind and it is easy to overdo it, using better materials, coverage and methods than the factory did...which is why Bill and others have suggested knocking it back from full gloss.

I used HotRod black for my grill support....

Nice satin sheen & not too glossy

Not at all; I don't mind responding and am just happy the mods moved the thread so I don't have to type it all out...I think I've linked that thread 4 or 5 times already!
