Currently have a MP .533 hydralic in a 426 eddy headed wedge with zero deck, Harlan Sharp rockers, 4k stall and 4.30 gears.
I'm thinking about going to solid cam from Hughes HUG HTL4852BS along with the cool face EDM lifters and matched spings. Is this a good idea?

IT will likely make more power I guess it depends on what you need it to do.With 4.30's and a 4speed I would imagine drive ability isn't an issue.

Its a drag only car. Has a 727 trans. The current cam was a pig out of the gate but once it got going it pulled hard. The converter would flash to 4500 with 1.60 60ft. 7.23 at 96 mph in the 1/8th.
Was just wondering if there was something better.

Did you degree that cam when you put it in? I had one of those 533 hydraulic Mopar cams in a 383 and it work real well It was in a 1972 dart with 3.91 and a 9 inch converter with short tires, it ran pretty good until I ran it low on oil, but thats another story

Mr.Cab Racing and winning with Mopars since 1964. (Old F--t, Huh)

I degreed the cam and its at 106.
Learned my lesson on that before.
Don't get me wrong, it runs good but seems it should be a lot faster compared to similar combinations.

I would switch to a solid or a solid roller cam. You can choose one or to get the most out of the combo or let one of the cam grinders pick it for you. I used Dwayne Porter for the solid flat tappet in my 493. He speced it and ground it for me. Also nitrided the cam and sold me the EDM lifters. It runs great with his cam in it and its a driver. No problem with cam breakin. He can spec a nice solid to get the most out of the combo. I could recomend a cam but it would not be as good as one of the pro's could spec for you. Ron

A flat tappet or a roller... depends on how much you
want to gain at what price... flat tappets have had
their issues over the years... but if you break it
in right(single springs) and keep a good zinc oil in
it you should be fine... roller will make more power
yet... but you have the price tag.... its your choice

Why not try advancing it farther IF you have PtV clearance..
that'll help the bottom end
