6515 is a 1971 383 and 440 carb, for California, and Nationwide applications.

im not thinking its an oem carb, i think its an over the counter replacement carb for the 71 383/440,

but not original to any car

the date on it is much later than 1971, it looks like a 1976 date

if you look on the underside off the throttle plate, the secondaries should be bigger than the primary side ,like a mini thermoquad. i agree the date is off.

Yes it does. Like Tony mentioned on an early post the 6515 was an over the counter replacement for those numbers. I am running one on my 71 Bee and it works flawlessly but my properly date coded 6191 is headed to Scott Harms soon and will shelve my 6515.
