I have some ford pistons that I want to put in a 440 block, that is bored .040 over. my problem is, the piston pin (1.040) is smaller than connecting rod pin hole (1.094).the pistons does not have pin locks. what would be the easiest way to put this togather.

YOU would have to get the piston honed to fit the larger mopar pin

You could re-bush the small end of the rod and hone to fit.
I did this on a set of 440 rods that went on a Boss 429 crank which was de-stroked.
I am struggling to remember if it was a 1.04 or .990 pin I had for this deal. It was an odd ball collection of parts , but it did work.

Just rebush the rods if the pins are floating, if pressed pins the pistons need machining to fit the bigger pins.

easier to help someone NOT spend their money on what is certain to cost more in the long run.

Honing .050"+ out of each piston can get expensive. That's literally several hours of work. have you checked with a local machine shop to see how much that would cost.
some of that material could be bored out, but i doubt most shops would have fixturing to do that.

So I reread the original post and there it was: pistons do not have pin locks. So now rebushing the rods doesn't work out so well, because the pistons have to be cut for locks as well.
Somewhere in there, the desire to use a piston that is in hand is overweighed by the reality that precision machine work isn't cheap! Add to that the problem of valve pockets possibly cutting through the piston top and I have rethought my position to "Buy the right pistons!"

Now IF you absolutely HAVE to use those pistons, rebush the rods and scare up a set of buttons to keep the pins in. And watch out for the valve notch problem.
