Hello all,
I rarely post here since my stuff isn't really OEM correct. Some stuff gets me curious though.
In the latest Mopar Collectors Guide, they feature a red Daytona and captioned near the underhood pictures, it reads..." They duplicated the factory overspray." Now i know that at the original assembly line, the engine bays were painted before any parts were installed. The pictures in the magazine show red overspray on the wiper washer fluid reservior, the horn, the wiper motor and other parts.
My understanding is that these cars were delivered to Creative Industries as complete Charger R/T models. Is the overspray the result of the fenders/hood/nosecone all being painted after the parts were installed on the car?

Yes + then some,
because the fenders needed to be painted in the underhood area too, not just on the outside, there was some sort of "mask" used to somewhat protect the underhood items

there are varying degrees of overspray per car
