I have a 65 Belvedere Street car that I want to perform a mini tub on over the winter. I was wondering if someone could layout some general tips that would help make this go as smooth as possible.

Other questions I have are:

Will the backseat still fit with the mini tub, and will the trunk spring brackets go back easily.

What is the best kit to use, mopar performance? or is the magnum force kit worth the money?

Any tips you guys have would be greatly appreciated.

,Miles

Have done two of them by cutting the tub at the seam and then trimming over to the frame rail and essentially just extending the stock tub over to the frame rail. Once done and cleaned up and painted, a chevy or ford guy looking at it wouldnt know it wasnt factory. When doing this method you dont have to do anything near the fender and no body work is necessary. If interested can get some pictures, etc. and give you a little more detail on how we did it. The seat frame does have to be modified somewhat.

I've done a few now, a Blair spot weld cutter is a god sent, when you add the new strip in between the two halves don't try and use one solid strip, I get the cleanest results with three pieces. TAKE YOUR TIME!! We (probably) aren't dying tomorrow, friday maybe, but no reason to finish this like a Mike Tyson fight. Kliko's are also nice to have. Remove all undercoating first. Plasma cutters are sweet too.

Here's a picture of my 63, used a pair of wheel wells from another car instead of using a strip down the middle, looks like it came from the factory that way.
