Need new V/C gaskets.What the latest & greatest??Is the Felpro the one with the steel between 2 layers of cork?? Mr gasket,cometic, 
HEMI-ITIS has no cure.
My condition is fully BLOWN!!

I stock both the Superformance and Cometics....they both are very good gaskets....the Cometics are much like the old SBM V/C with the steel inners and rubber outer.

Al, I like the fel pro steel between cork: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/fel-1657/media/imagesA little pricey, but thick enough to seal and the steel holds the shape so it doesn't distort. I have the valve covers on/off alot and these lasted the whole season.

The gaskets I had were so old I forgot who made them.They were the light brown cork with a steel center.The felpro's are blue silicon with the steel center.The regular cork ones like what are under my stock chrome covers on stock steel heads have crushed out in the lower corners and leak right onto the header.
HEMI-ITIS has no cure.
My condition is fully BLOWN!!

He did,with plain cork ones.The covers have been off many times since then.
HEMI-ITIS has no cure.

Hi there,
Yes, rocker gear(StageV) are fitted under the valve covers.
I have cranked motor by hand with valve covers fitted & no interference. I did measure, but can't recall what it was, as I was checking clearance for when I installed valve cover breathers.
On the route of breathers, I would most like buy weld in # bungs if doing again.
Like you I was apprehensive, but thought for the price, it was worth the risk, as it happened,all seems OK so far.
Fred has real world experience & If he says he's ran them & all is OK, that's good enough for me
