I have a 500ci. low deck engine that belong to a friend, he always had trouble with rocker arm adjuster screws gaulding to pushrod cup. The engine has original B1s with black rockers that came with heads from koffels. Do I need T&D rockers that oil thru push rods? The engine is aluminum rod,738 lift roller cam. Drag Race engine, Any help would be greatly apreaciated. THANKS.

I would prefer the T&D rockers and pushrod oiling but they are not necessary for what you have. You need to make sure you have the correct length pushrods in the motor. If the adjuster stud is to far out or not enough you can have problems like you describe. Also make sure that the rocker shafts are installed in the correct orientation.

The only time I have had a problem in 10 years with burning pushrod cups using Koffel rockers I accidently put the shafts in wrong and the oil wasn't getting to the cups.

afaik those rockers are made by dove and while some have used them successfully for the most part it's only a matter of time before you end up with T&D or Jesel. imho if you can swing it financially i would upgrade the rocker system.

as mac56 said, the shafts only go on one way , and the bottom of rocker to bottom of ball is .375 thou. Are they 3/8ths push rods? The cup is 3/8 ths on mine. I'm steppin up next year tho. Cab has a brand new set he wants to sell complete if you need any, drop him a PM

Yes you can use the T&D common shaft rockers, just bolt right up but likely will need new pushrods. But check what you ahve first, might be a simple solution.
