I know parts can migrate from one year to the next but has anyone seen a 71 Windshield that used 70 Screw-In Windhshield clips instead of 71 post type? Thank you in advance for info!

The 70 clips are shorter than the 71's. I tried using 71 clips on a 70 and the trim stuck out too far and mostly wouldn't stay attached.

Thanks! I am scratching my head because my 71 car has holes instead of posts? The clip kits call for a post. Have you seen that before?

My unrestored/disassembled '70 Challenger R/T (702 SPD) has 1971 style windshield clips, evidence points to a mid-July '70 assembly date.

When was your 'Cuda scheduled to be built?

I don't know the date, but your car is evidence that it can go forward or backward from year to year. THANKS!

It's not uncommon for '71 E-bodies to have some '70 sheetmetal parts up to about mid-October 1970 scheduled production dates. Particularly things like inner fenders, fenders, trunk floor etc.

So it's entirely plausible that you have a '70 style windshield attachment system if your car was produced early in the model year.

As for carrying parts backwards, late production '71 Challengers often came through with slotted bumpers which were technically for '72 Challengers

And don't rule out the obvious...You did'nt state how original{unmolested} the vehicle was when you recieved it...Snapping off the studs will leave you with holes..

Didn't know they would leave holes if busted off, could have happened. I guess the length of the clips will tell the story. Thanks!
