Notice the change in color as coverage lessens into the nooks & crannies. Q is bright & vibrant - U not so much. I bet the teal you are seeing is "oil" leaching from the undercoating? Use some cleaner wax on the windshield jamb or rear wheel tubs where paint is the thickest & it should clear it up in person - the color choices are not that close. 7484495-RL41B8G234502-1.jpg (39 downloads)

Thanks Larry J NO, ion '68 you would still have UU1 on the fender tag/b'cast sheet for "paint & style" they (Chrysler Corp.) didn't concern themselves with vinyl tops at that point in production. The '68 D & C paint codes are also c-body ONLY. So, L, Q, U are your "only?" logical candidates.

68gtx OP enthusiast 6 Joined: Nov 2012 Posts: 355	Ok I went to paint shop with the bracket from the tail panel. They put under the special all knowing EYE!!!! Then by some magic it comes up with a formula. Then they cross reference it with factory color formulas i guess. Nothing was exact. But 2 popped up on screen B3 which is a 69 color and U code. So U code it is!!! Thanks for the input. Larry J

You, PPG, and many others see the three digits on the earlier fender tags and mistakenly believe all three are needed to define the paint color, when in fact the digits are defining the paint colorS and paint scheme. The fact that later paint codes ARE three digits only compounds this confusion. Down to just a blue car now.
