68gtx OP enthusiast 6 Joined: Nov 2012 Posts: 355	Ok I am restoring a 68 gtx 440 4 speed car. It is a numbers matching car. When I purchased the car it came with a holley 4160. I was told it is correct for this car. However I have done some research and have contacted some people in the know. I have been told a carter 4428s is the correct carb by year one. 1 well known carb shop said it could be a holley 4160, and another shop said it could be either carter or holley(*&^%$^&). Does anyone know for sure without a doubt which carb I need??? Thanks Larry (what carb) Johnson

hemi68charger master Joined: Aug 2003 Posts: 8,828 Houston, Tx	It should be a Carter AVS 4428. Being that it is a 4speed car, it should have the dashpot attached to the passenger rear. You can see it on this 383 4speed version.
