Looking to build a 418, curious about which brand crank you would recommend and why. I'm looking at Eagle forged, but open to suggestions.

Engine specs
360 roller block Hard Block tall fill, ARP main studs, deburred caps
4.080 bore 13.7 Wiseco vert gas port, .043, .043, 3mm lands
already got Eagle H beam rods
cnc ported and then some (25+cfm over OOTB) IndyBrocks
4/7 swap solid roller, upper 260* @ .050 .700ish lift
port matched Super Victor
1.75 primary Super Comps

Rod Bloomer is a member here. I have one of his cranks, it's a nice
piece. Mike

Had 1 EAGLE for a SB that had the crank key way cut too long and too deep.
Cost me a TCI Rattler and the snout off the crank.

Called Eagle and asked them if they ever heard of that, they said NO. Called my buddy Sammy at ICH and asked him, he said Oh YES he had and we fix them !!

SO...I didn't like getting lied to nor getting my stuff damaged due to their stuff. Like their rods though
SCAT works
Got a Callies in my Chrysler motored Rambler but it was kinda salty

Ya I noticed on the cast 3.58 Eagle in the motor now that the keyway was different. Wound up using a key outa something else, don't remember what it was
I'd run a Callies if I could afford it.

BPE, my machinist was impressed with mine. And Rod is a good guy.

I have been running a Eagle for the last several years in my 408, it started out with a few issues but had them corrected,,If I were to do it over again I would look into a BPE,K1 or Callies.

Bought our Eagle 4" from Muscle Motors. Could have bought it about anywhere, but I "thought" they would have checked it over before sending it to me. They checked the second one.

Nice to hear all these good things about Eagle . Lucky my current Eagle cast 3.58 stroke motor hasn't broke yet, maybe they live better at 587 HP @ 7100 . Must be the sweet spot. Seriously though, I think I'm leaning toward a K-1, found one for $526.

Looks like Callies is out of the SBM crank and rod game from the looks of their site.

We never broke our crank..... it was just the first one would have required too much $$ and time to be usable. Guess I didn't see the fine print that I was purchasing a usable core. 2nd crank was fine, but I don't know how many boxes were opened to find one in that condition.

For what its worth,BPE checks every crank before he ships it. One of the best crankshaft per dollar deals you will ever find.

I've used 11 scat forged 4" cranks and 3 or 4 of there cast cranks. No issues. Or maybe i've just been lucky!!
