I can't tell you about Dana 60 gears, but I had a set of Motive 4.56 gears for the 9.25" axle for my Dakota.
I even had Bob help me install them...sheesh, 4 years ago now? it's been awhile.
I put several thousand miles on them, then when I parted out that truck, sold the axle to a buddy of mine who put about 12k miles on it in a year, then put his truck back to stock and sold it, so that axle is now with it's 3rd Dakota up in Northern Ohio, still going strong.
No gear noise (thanks to having them properly and professionally set up by the folks at BGR!), and held up to my big block TKO truck.

hey Ted...I have the AF/X gears in the 9" for the 63 Dodge...they are 4.57's, spool, 35 spline axles...Strange set up.. the guy that set mine up said he angled the rear of the ring gear slightly to aide in gear climb for cooling ...Im putting mine on the street.. by the way, the NEW 499 that was built out of the old one has run today on the dyno!!...new block, Pistons(dished for 10-1 compression) for pump gas...had the wild roller cam reground to save some money ...sound totally awesome...also installed billet main caps and the old girdle... north of 670hp stopped at 7200 and still climbing...that should make one awesome 2800lb street machine capable;e of running low 9's..... sorry for intruding on your posting but I just had to tell ya....

Can you verify? 4.10 street gear, is this for the 3.xx-4.10 carrier/spool?
Does anyone know if the 4.30 gears that Motive offers fit the 4.56-5.xx carrier/spool? I see two 4.30 gears:
D997430 Pro gears (9310 steel) D897430 Std gears (8620 steel)

Jim...I just got off the phone with tech. I am surprised they were there! The tech told me that the 4:10s take a series 4 spool and the 4:30s take a series 5 spool.
Thanks for sharing the info. Motive never replied to my email with those questions. My Dart has the same Strange 5 series (4.56-5.xx) spool as your car, so the 4.30 gears would fit.
I hate that term "4 series"... Because the low number carrier fits 3.xx-4.10 and the high number carrier fits 4.56, 4.88, 5.xx So they both are "4" I prefer to have them say 3 series or 5 series for Dana 60 carriers.
