Howdy all, getting ready to convert my column shifter in my challenger to a slapstick.... I cut the brackets and shifter off an old junk cuda a few years ago and have been waiting on the time to do the swap... well its time lol.... Anyone have any good ideas or tips on doing this? I installed a Hurst floor shifter in to the car last year, but have not been to happy with it.

Thanks !!!!!!!!

I did the same for my '73 Roadrunner, and it was well worth it! My best advice is measure a LOT, and make sure that when the shifter is mounted to the back bracket, that the linkage rod fits in the front bracket before you tack weld everything. Just basically put the brackets as close to where they came off of the other one. Good luck!

Well, I would go out and measure for you, but that would be pointless on a B body.......I hope someone else can help you.

Everything should already be dimpled on your tunnel for the brackets. When I converted my sig car from column to floor shift I just cut the whole trans tunnel out of my donor car and screwed it down on top of my stock tunnel. Believe me it works great. Don't laugh it's been like this for 5 years. Next summer it's comming out in favor of a 4sp setup but I have had no problems with this combo as-is.

I put one in a 69 Dart years ago. I started at the transmission and worked my way back. The flat area where the down rod goes through was already there, even the screw holes were dimpled. After installing the linkage on the transmission and the down rod I put the transmission in park. Then installed the linkage from the shifter to the down rod and put the shifter in park to locate it, spot welded it down to check the console fit and shifter operation. It looked cool in a A body and worked great. I wish I had one to put in the Dart I have now.
