I'm having some difficulty finding some body and body hardware parts for a 71 Cuda. Would like to know what type of parts interchange with 71-74 b bodies. I have access to some Satellite parts cars and was curious as to whether things like hood hinges, frame rails, inner fenders, inner cowl, etc. would interchange.

In my area barracuda parts cars are pretty scarce more so than the b body cars. I bought a 71 cuda project that was missing a lot of parts and don't really want to buy every missing piece one at a time. I did that with another car and is way too expensive. Much cheaper to just acquire a parts car and sell what you don't use.

Also need the inner roof supports under the drip rail. Would those possibly be the same as a b-body of that year?

While a lot of the 71-4 B body parts look like E body parts, very few interchange, however anything can be made to work...a 71 Cuda is perhaps one of the most expensive Mopars to restore "properly", IMHO buy what you need used, or from AMD, Goodmark, etc

hood hinges won't interchange. They look almost the same but won't work.
Inner fenders, rails, firewall are the same but buy new ones. Hard t move over used sheetmetal and have it turn out nice. Roof rails are reproduced by AMD too. If you are refering to the welded in pieces.
If you do choose to get used panels,, a 71-72 B body 4 door makes a great parts car and you aren't sacrificing a 2 door. All the rails, inner fenders, interior floor etc on the 4 door is identical to your Cuda. Plus there is a ton of nuts bolts, clips etc that work too.

Core support, firewall, front aprons, T-bar cross member, front floor pan are the same as 71/2B, 2 or 4 dr. 72 pan is a little different. 71/2B front frame rails are very close and will work.
Nothing else will interchange. Upper cowl plate, hinge jams, rear frames, rockers, roof, and other pans are all different.
I carry most all this in original desert metal.

Where are you located? I know a guy selling 2 challengers, junk cars, cheap. 71 and 72. Both are really bad, one had a tree fall on the roof. I don't know what you need but maybe you could get the parts off of 2 of these to make work. I have a couple quick pics of the one, though it looks better in the pic then in real life.

I plant use a fair amout of repro metal, most likely AMD but as you say I think it would be better to find a car to get most of the nuts and bolts type stuff. Buying all those small items one at a time gets real pricey.

Thank you for that info.

Yes, you are a little far away for a couple parts cars. Isn't that always the case.

This car rusted in some weird places. The roof skin is not rusted but the inner support that lies under the chrome and rubber door molding has rusted through in a few places requiring that the roof skin be removed to fix/replace it. From what I've seen this support piece has not been reproduced. I could be wrong and if it is available in reproduction please advise.

thanks
