Koleno or Mega block? Going to start new build considering which block going to be a 500-528 all out race engine (rules limit to 530 ci) in a 900-950 application. Either will be checked and corrected at machine shop is koleno $1000 better or needed

mega blocks are a little harder to find now unless your just talking about the newer world blocks.

Weight doesnt exactly matter for our application.

With the koleno you get some real good customer service which goes a long way sometimes. I think the Koleno from the factory is a MUCH higher quality then any of the Mega block stuff. The priority oiling in the Koleno is also a nice addition.

If I had the chance to buy a block when I was building my all out 500ci years ago it would have been with the Koleno.

What heads are you planning on using? Send me a Pm on your progress:)

I have a new on the crate mega block purchased in 2007. I think it was made by cummins maybe? It was cnc'ed from the factory. How quick do you need a block?

I called Koffels around september to purchase a koleno, and they had told me something to the sort of Koleno was also changing hands or moving and it was going to maybe be before the first of the year before they would start casting again
