was a great days racing yesterday,Sunday, at the the Mopar Rumble here at Sydney Dragway.
as per the name this is a Mopar only event put on by the Regals car club.some tough and not so tough street cars and a few of pure competition cars.there were several classes, new hemi, hemi sixbanger, slant six, small block, big block, power adder classes and even a 4 cylinder (?)class.there was 2 rounds elimination per class,4 cars only. top 4 reaction times getting you in.
i cracked a 0.000 as first car down the strip who hoo
i ran 8 passes through the day for a best pass of 11.04@119.08 this was a PB at this point
3 cars fronted for big block and i got the solo and dialled in a 11.05(1261DA) lucky it was a solo as it pulled a 11.021@120.22 PB again.
pulled up for the final air is off a bit(1988DA)but didn't want to chance it dialled a 11.03 and laid off the light against a 14.48 in the other lane.had a hard time catching him,i didn't,but got the win light, all right he must have broken out.
pick up the time slip i ran a 10.994@120.66
get the win on a double break out
BUT lose the race because i am not legal to run quicker than 11.00 ce la vi
dang this car/motor should not have been able to run a 10second pass.
oh well Nostalgia Drags next weekend, maybe put the back seat back in
thanks for all the advice and encouragement here and at home

Tex

Congrats on joining the 10 second club. You have a great running car. What was your 60 ft as I am curious ? Ron

here's the slip
Ron,
sixties were a bit off mostly in the 1.53 range
1.521 in the final

Sam64,
the rule is cool,i have always looked to have it enforced when racing.Unlike you fellas we don't need a cage or tech till faster than 11.00
and getting a cage ok'd in a street car is a pain in the a*se.and this is my daily driver

Congrats Tex It's a good feeling to break into the 10's and you managed it with a very low speed. Well done on the racing front as well.
Sounds like you had a very cool weekend.

thanks Deaks,
both cars i've built and raced have been like that,my old 32 Ford coupe went 11.49 with only 114.3MPH.
maybe time for that prosystems carb again-but maybe not can't afford 10's too often don't want the changes that entails.
3 runners up in 4 meetings only 2 by driver error, always next week
thanks Cole
