I was supposed to go, but sadly a friends funeral was hanging in the wind and my car was not ready anyway like anticipated earlier.
I also thought that it would not be fun trying to get back to NYC with all these people trying to get away being that Southern Maryland was closer to Sandy then we were up here.

Did the race/show go fine?
I believe my friend made it down with his street Duster.

I was there until about 1:30. Besides being a little chilly with the wind, it was pretty good. Not a huge turnout of sportsman racer so I think they combined top and mod et. Only a handful of folks selling stuff that I saw. Diamond Jim was there hanging the hoops and I believe someone let a whole lot of smoke out of their engine as I was walking out. Also pretty sure a guy grenaded his new hemi challenger at the line.

The weather was good, cloudy and high 60's temperature.
Zero rain, none, nada, zip.

There were plenty of racers in Mod ET (~50 cars, footbrake) and Street ET (~34 cars).
Mod ET round by round results
Street ET round by round results

It was the Top ET (electronics) class that had very few cars, I think it was around 19. There was a free "Quick 8" extra pot for Top ET, but since there were so few cars they didn't run the quick 8 and just added that money to the Top ET payout to make $1,000 to win, $400 runner up, etc. After the reentry round for the losers of 1st round, there were 12 cars in second round. Top ET round by round results

Cars were making good laps, so they gave all the ET cars 4 time trials and started eliminations at 2:30pm instead of 3pm. So racers were able to have some fun and make more passes than expected.

Sandy was not a factor. It was too far away. Now Monday and Tuesday might see some effects. A light touch of rain early Sunday, but no wind. But the storm is coming to the mid-Atlantic and NYC...

Was that Ray Lewis? He lost in the 3rd round of Top ET to my buddy Jeff Jones in his naturally aspirated, all motor, 1983 Omni 024. Jeff went 8.97 that pass in the Omni vs Omni race! LOL

I wonder if that Challenger was the one that I treed big time? It ran a 12.64 at 114. I thought that was pretty good for a stock SRT. He must of felt bad losing to my 12.80 at 105 but I can't imagine how bad he must be feeling if he broke it!

It was a great day and a lot of fun for me. Good to see some folks that I hadn't seen in a while and met some new friends that live near by me. My brother was with me and he had fun too. Got to see first hand Jim doing a big wheelie and Laura Glasscock drive away in a hurry too.Lost second round but felt good to be racing again!

yeah that's Ray Lewis. The car is silly fast. He's running turbo 400 and has no 2nd gear. I think he's had it up to 174 in the 1/4. He'll get it sorted out. It has a 100mm turbo and W5 heads. and 3.73 gears.

We had a great time at the event. We didn't go to run brackets but we enjoyed it. Had a little trouble getting down track...not because of track conditions but to us not getting our boost tuneup correct. We missed this race last year due to other engagements. It was great seeing and talking to everyone. Saw some really good running Mopars out there.

Great time! Weather not a factor like Jim mentioned.

After a shake down pass, and a spark plug change.
John Dalain, with his award winning 69 Road Runner performed very well.

Thanks for the link with the pics. I really like your 69 Bee as it looks and runs awesome. How can anyone not love the lines of the 69 B-bodies. Ron
