Hi all,cars a satellite -

got around to installing the rear bumper & taillights, ran the main mid body wire loom to the drivers side kick panel.

After staring at wiring diagrams I've got some questions, hope you guys can help:

what activates the trunk light power? I noticed I couldn't get power from the center pin of the socket no matter how I bench tested it. I assumed its just a standard single pin socket but perhaps not???

Where does the trunk light mount, bottom of package tray, somewhere else?

Is the loom that connects to the left rear side of the tail light harness & runs to the drivers tow kick the only one running to the rear?

Does that one connect to the dash loom?

Are the majority of the remaining circuits coming off of the dash loom & then the engine & front lighting loom connected to / thru the firewall block?

Oh yeah, the license plate light - I think I have the bracket but no light - any pic's of whats needed for a 71?

I've been staring at these diagrams for a while & trying to figure out if I'm missing a loom or something. I do have the front loom, an engine harness & two dash looms.

FYI - I didn't disassemble the car so reassembly is challenging.

Thanks for any help!

Evan

Trunk light has a mercury switch in it and the light is mounted to the underside of the deck lid.

Yes there is one main rear body harness that connects to the dash harness at the drivers kick panel. Rear Spearker is a seprate harness.

Yes the motor and front body harenesses connect to dash harness at the bulkhead.

Well that is interesting - so is it supposed to come on when the socket is tilted backward then? If it doesn't do that regardless of the direction I'm tilting it in I can assume its a bad switch then?

I looked on the underside of the deck/trunk lid & didn't see anywhere obvious it mounted, I'll look again. When mounted does the bulb face ft or rear of car?

Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

thanks Mark, thats exactly how mine sits now! I routed the wire thru the trunk lid out the opening next to the hinge & plugged in right there.

Thanks a bunch, I'll email you that list.
