Maybe someone on here can help me figure out why my 770 Super Stock holley carbs won't Idle under 1500 RPM's.Linkage seems to be set correctly for both carbs. I tried everything from setting the floats correctly to 5.5 psi fuel pressure to getting air mixture screws turned for highest idle. These puppy's wont idle low, never seen this before. What am I missing here? I'm a confused individual.

check your secondary butterfly stops. Tim
Thankyou for your reply. Can you explain why this would affect why it won't idle low?

Drawing too much air from the secondaries and it wouldnt be on the idle circuit

Recheck the float level on the one you lowered the float on when it was bleading over. It may have been a stuck needle and seat and not necesarly too high, and now after adjusting it it is too low. It was ok on the dyno!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

is there holes drilled in the throttle blades? had this problem with mine. All four throttle blades had holes in them and i put tape over two of them and it idled down so i replaced the two throttle blades and it idled great
No, stock carbs.I'm thinking maybe the secondaries are sticking due to a gasket hanging it up on the aluminum spacer.

hey Bill did you reset the float yet? It was idling good on the dyno so if you lowered the float because it was bleeding over then you cut off the fuel to that bowl. Make sure that the fuel pressure isnt above about 5-5.5 lbs max on those carbs.
