Im lowering the compression on my 414" from 14 to 1 to around 11 to 1 to be drivable on 93 octane fuel. Going to a custom flat top from Diamond. The cam in the car now is a Comp cam with 281/288 @ .50 and 661/664 lift with 1.5 rockers and has a 110* lobe separation. Converter in car goes to 5200. The cam Im thinking of going to is also a shelf cam from Comp and is 274/281 with 693/645 lift on a 106 lobe separation. I do have a plate system on the car but I'm looking for the best power on motor I can get. Will it make more power with an even smaller cam? Im sticking with the same 4.10 gears, converter, 2" headers, etc.... Im looking for max power from an 11 to 1 motor. The heads are the Indy 360-1 245 cnc heads with raised intake ports from Ryan J with an Indy intake and a 1050 quickfuel 4150 carb. Thanks

Sounds like a lot of duration@50 for that low of compression, and I am not sure how effective spray is with a tight 106 LSA
We're it me I would just a milder roller, just my opinion, sure doesnt mean I am right...lol

Engine guru George Koppal and I were talking about this exact same thing where they lowered the comp. 2+ points thinking they would lose a bunch of power and they didn`t.............maybe he`ll chime in w/all of the facts. George said maybe a 25 hp loss on the motor they messed with...........

Thanks for the suggestions. Im now thinking I may just get the cam I have now re-ground. I talked with Richard from Bullet cams and he feels like they may be able to fix me up. I hope thats the case because its only $125 vs. $337.00 from Comp for a new one.

I know some NOS racers that tried a bunch of different cams, they found out that a Super Stock style grind work way better than the standard NOS grinds did 106 LSA work good
