Will try and keep this short and sweet. Was a long weekend and we need to get the other car ready for this weekend.

The Good, we made another final in Hot Street. That is two this year so we had some Mopar representation out here

The Bad, we lost the final round.

The worse, by loosing the final we finished second in the championship race by 10 points. Beat the points leader in the semis but due to qualifying points needed to win the race to pass him. He qualified on spot in front of me all year, this weekend he was 2 and I was 3. So we could not pull that off.

The ugly, we hurt the motor in the final. Had a very good race with a very fast SS/AM car in the final. We threw most everything at it. Top of forst gear it was popping and banging. Shut it off and went 10.02

Was a long weekend. We broke more parts this weekend that we had all year. A rocker let go, a spring broke and the oil pump siezed up, likely fromt he rocker. Also fried a fan and melted a rlay box. But we worked and worked to try and pull it off. Car only made one good pass all weekend. I am sure it was trying to tell me something I was juts not listening. In the end we came, we tried we lost...

Want to say thanks to my son Steven and to fellow member Curtis for his help this weekend. Without it we would not have made it far at all. Also congrats to Rod Dewild for winning the championship and to Randy Jones for the win yesterday. Awesome guys and we have fun even with all the work. Feel like we are ready to run Pro Stock now

Here are a couple of pics from this weekend. My crew chief and son Steven are in the first one in the foreground.

Al, sorry to hear about your motor & hope the bottom end is ok,
but at least you're hooking up better. Still, pretty awesome to
make it to the finals & hope better things are yet to come.

Sorry about the problems, but you all came home in one piece, as far as problems, winter is coming and that a time for upgrades and fixing those pesky gremlin's.

Sorry to here about the carnage. Same deal for me, lost a pump, dist driveshaft, and rod bearings to a needle bearing out of a rocker. not fun.

Had a good time out there with you this weekend, you and your son sure do have a good routine down. Too bad I'll be out of town during the Street Car Super Nationals, was really looking forward to it...I'm here to help whenever you need it, and hope to be out there racing with you all a lot more next year. see you soon,
Curtis

No kind of fun at all.
The pics look great....that car really spanks the tires based on the second shot.
Hopefully , you got it clicked off before it hurt itself any worse than what you've typed.

Not sure yet on that one. Car is still in the trailer as I spent yesterday finishing up some stuff on a customers car that is going ot be in the SEMA show. Today I will be getting the other car ready for the Jegs Sportsnationals this weekend. So maybe by tonight we will have some idea s to what's wrong. I downloaded the racepak data but it did not really show anything.

Will be at SCSN no matter what but maybe just Bracket 1 at this point. Hopefully it is nothing major, and I dont think it is just a time and money thing at this point. Oh yeah we are excepting donations

Sorry to hear about the Carnage Al...

Launch pic looks great, how much air in the tires???

I have had good results at 10psi in my 10.5W-31's.

What is the 60 foot time on your ride???

Cheers,

Arnie I would KILL to have your 60' times Heck even the DA you get to run in, or the weight of the car

That pass in both pictures are 1.302's. best we have EVER been in the car is 1.266 at the MATS but the track was not there down track. Car weighs 3320 now and we have been a best of .38 at 163 and change.

Jay, Well it looks like we will probably make the SCSN race. The problem appears to be the same one we have been having it just got worse. No time to fix it now. Will try and bandaid it and hope it holds for through street car and does not go BOOM!! Will freshen it up after that and go from there.

Sorry to hear about the breakage, Al. Its been letting the rocker go and breaking the same spring? Cause? Hope you get it back together for the SCSN. I'm hoping to make it over to watch.

Wes

Wes, No the rocker and spring were the first ones we have broken with the car. I am sure in our haste to address other problems we just overlooked a bad rocker, which likely led to the spring failure. We are usually pretty anal about checking the valvetrain but will admit a coupl eof times we just did not have time to look real close. We also had a fan fail and and reloy box burn up as well. Just so many things two guys can do sometimes. Between looking at racepak info and trying to figure out why were we down on power some stuff obviously got missed. Not much time between the first couple of rounds for us and we are rank amatuers for sure

Jay looking forward to you guys coming up for the weekend. We will give it our all as usual. Hopefully we can represent, since we will likely be the only Mopar there again.

Arnie the car has to run a 29.5X10.5 non W M/T tire by rule. I run tubes and the beadlocks and we are at 10-10.5 depending on how the track is working.

Tiny tire, plenty of power and a pig of a Mopar. Keeps us working to make it better
