Having problems with my 1978 dodge d100 318 engine, suspect a vacum leak on engine some where, carb is fine, ? is could a engine head gasket leak be casuing fuel loss of cylinder pressure on pistons 3,5, and 7 ???? or could it be the intake manifold gasket ???? Been banging head on this one, friend is helping and he is stumped as well, we just have possibilities right now, if any one has advice or answers please comment or send a message, PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!

You've swapped a known good carb? If so, put a vacuum gage on it and see what it is.

If it has good power and smooth off of idle, it usually is lean due to vac leak or crud in carb etc. If it has egr, take a look at it's operation too.

I'm confused too. Whats a "fuel loss"? Is Siri doing your typing? I fired her from writing my text messages.

just changed the intake manifold gasket yesterday, will see if that is the problem, what is happening is that there must be a vacum leak either in the intake or engine head due to the truck running rough, and my friend did a vacum test and things were all over the place ( before we replaced the gasket ) so keeping fingers crossed and also any advice would be great

Low commpression on 3,5 and 7? Probably the head gasket or worse.

Number 7 likes to blow to outside from what I have seen Good chance it is a blown head gasket 10 bolts Use a good gasket and forget it By the way if the cylinders are over 90 lbs I would not loose any sleep over it the comp on those year 318 engines was low.
