How do you get that 'like new' look when rebuilding a carb? I've got a TQ that works GREAT but it looks like total crap. I'm talking about the upper and lower cast pieces. I got the linkages and such detailed but that made the rest of the carb look that much worse.

Is it 'just' a matter of bead blasting (I don't have one) or is there a chemical process?

Sorry if this has been asked before. I took a look, but couldn't find anything.

Thanks.

To clean aluminum castings, and retain the "milk" or patina of the casting, I soda blast with talc, very gentle, and it takes a long time, then I tumble the pcs in a vibratory bowl with different media, depending on the condition of the aluminum, the media can range from corn meal to ceramic media, to SS shot if I need a "plated" look
