i have a mini spare i need help with reading date codes.

by the valve stem there is a small 9 then some space then a 11 in larger sized front.
on the other side is 14 then 5.5. i would assume this means 14" rim and 5.5" wide.
then in the lig circle there is a 11 in the same size front as by the stem. then between the the next lug there is a k2 then a 9 directly under the k2.

i am at work so i can't post a pic until i get home ferom work.

The small 9 is for 1969. The 11 is November, the 14 is the 14th day of November. The 9 under the K2 is also for 1969. You should see that same K2(probably very faint) above the 9 next to the 11. The tire should be an F78x14 becasue of the November date of the rim.

You can also date the tire as well

On one sidewall (the back one unless the tire was put on backwards) there will be a string of letters/numbers that have been melted into the tire. This will be an area about 1/4" high x 1.5" long and will have the impressions of screw heads at either end.

The last 3 numbers in the series will be the week/year in which the tire was manufactured

In this case the '261' corresponds to the 26th week of 1971

if i remember correctly i removed it from a ebody in the mid 70's. it had a regular tire mounted on it when i removed it from a totaled car.

That is a correct space saver rim for E-body

I can only make out the 11 by the valve stem on my monitor, so it's either November, or the 11th day of something.

the K2/9 breaks down as

K - Kelsey Hayes (manufacturer)
2 - KH's Canadian plant (Chatham IIRC).
Note: if it's a '1' then that's the Romulus, MI plant where the rims were also made
