Greetings!

I've been trying to figure out which shade of black paint to use on my doors on the inside. I'm guessing gloss black? Someone before used body color and I know that is not right.

Same with the front of the radiator support S/O put body color. I thought is was suppose to be a flat black? Is it the whole front of the radiator support and inner fender face? On many restored cars, I see the lower radiator support painted body color. Is this correct?

I looked at original factory photos but the angle or light is never right to tell.

Last, door striker and body receiver, are these painted or natural metal?

Thanks!
CAC

It's a dry heat
interior sides of the doors = gloss black
behind the grille = flat black
door latches = yellow zinc
door strikers = a soft clear zinc/or clear cad

Here are some pics of my unrestored original paint 69 Charger.

I'm no help with your interior paint question as my interior is green.

Thanks guys, that helps a lot! I couldn't tell for sure form the pics, but the inside fenders behind the headlights appear to be body color, is that right? Also the bottom of the radiator support that is visible from under the bumper, it looks flat black, is that right?

Thanks again!

I took more pictures. Stuck the camera down in there and used flash this time. Sorry, it's not all "pretty", but this is what a unrestored 43 year old car looks like after 243,000 miles. This is not some low mileage, garaged for it's whole life show queen. In fact, it was daily driven up into the 1990s. Didn't see a full time garage until 1997.

It appears to be black behind the headlights and the lower radiator support is black too. It's like that top "channel" of the radiator is about the only part that isn't black. You can see the rough sprayed edge just under the channel. It's like it didn't get much green or black paint there... Just surface rusty now.

This really helps! I can see that the inside of the valance and also the valance cross member are flat black too, as well as the grill supports and hood striker tray.

Man what an awesome Charger you have. Mine was original before the last owner who chose the wrong body shop to redo the car. They took everything down to metal, lost half the bolts, didn't neutralize the rust, and made a pretty big mess. The owner was disgusted with having paid them 15K and it starting to rust after 6 months. He then left it sitting outside for 15 years without putting the motor back in, till I bought it.

I wish I could have 5 minutes with an original car to photograph bolts, fasteners and paint marks to get it right.

Thanks for the pics,
CAC

Chargers got the same rad supt blackout that other B bodies got: inner fenders, rad support side panels, center support, and lower crossmember, shot from below at about a 45-degree angle, breaking off more or less level with the upper tie bar. Exceptions to the blackout were supposed to be dark blue cars & black cars.
Inner door panels were masked around the perimeter of where the door seal goes; center area of the door almost always is just overspray. Gloss on inner doors, in an interior color. What color is your interior? I probably have the color code. Note that interiors generally used 4 different colors on different items, except for black or white interiors.
