I am building a 493 stroker. I would like your input on where I should install the cam. Here is my build:
1970 Challenger(stock body and frame)
Dana 60 and 4:10 gears
950 Biggs carb with Holley street dominator
fuel cell & electric fuel pump
Eddy RPM's stage III porting
Diamond pistons 10.7:1 compression
File fit rings
440 Source crank & rods
2" TTi headers 3 1/2" collectors
3 1/2" exhaust to axle
727 auto reverse manual
4000 stall converter
tranny cooler
Harland Sharps with 1.6 on the intake
Isky red zones
Comp solid roller 308R-10
Lobe sep 110 deg
lift .575 intake and exhaust
duration @.050 262 intake and exhaust
This will be a 99% street driven car.
Where would you install this cam?
Thanks for your input

106 maybe 104 with a tight converter like a 3000.

My motor is similar to yours and my cam lobes are a little different, 260 @.050 intake with .430 lobe lift and 266 @.050 exhaust with .409 lobe lift, H.S. 1.65 actaul ratio at the retainers ground on 108, installed at 106 to 107 depending on which valves are checked I check the both the # 1 cylinder and the # 6 cylinders valves at the retainers for LSA and actual lft with both checking springs and the ones that will be used when the motor is used and the lobe seperation on both the intake and exhaust lobes do that and you may find some information you didn't know or suspect

106 for that combo.

Hoping you have ported the street dominiator to at least nearly match the flow potential of your heads....or it will cost you a good bit at the top of the RPM range. A well ported SD from my experience can flow about 310-315 vs ~270 stock. Well ported it's a great match because a shorter runner (compared to say a Victor) is less restrictive for a given flow, longer runners are better for torque but that's not an issue for a 4.15 stroke.

Thanks for the advice guys. Wise, I did take your advice and open up the intake. I really value the information I get from this site.

Sounds like a very nice combo. You will love it.
As I read that cam, it would be .575" with 1.5 rockers, so with the 1.6 it will have more (.613") and I like that with the porting you have.

105-107 ATC (target 106).
